THE ALPS BIO CLUSTER PROJECT

Alps Bio Cluster is a European project, co-funded by the ERDF under the Alpine Space Programme, that aims to unite research, industrial, and training resources in Biotech and Medtech sectors over an extended transalpine area.

Our main objectives are:

  1. Enhance local biotech potentialities throughout transnational opportunities by the creation of a meta cluster: Alps Bio Cluster
  2. Foster stable cooperation between R&D centres and start-ups as well as SMEs on a transalpine scale by implementing thematic networks federating critical size resources (academic, industrial and training)
  3. Promotion the visibility of the transalpine bio-cluster, increase the portfolio of innovation and patents of R&D centres and SMEs’ inside and outside the Alpine region.

EVENT

BIOTECH 2010 is the international event and conference dedicated to biotechnologies organised in Milan from 26 to 28 October 2010.

BIOTECH 2010 is organised together with NUCE INTERNATIONAL 2010, the first fair-conference in Italy dedicated to nutraceutics, functional foods and cosmeceutics.
 

FOCUS

Running alongside BIOTECH 2010, AlpsBioCluster partners, in collaboration with the Enterprise Europe Network, will host a company mission with foreign delegations coming from all EU. Participants will have the chance to meet SMEs, research centres, universities and start-ups in the biotech sector to talk about:

  • Technology transfer and exploitation of research results
  • Ideas for joint research projects
  • Opportunities for R&D funding
  • Internationalisation
  • Licensing, production and distribution agreement

  • Environmental biotechnologies
  • Food biotechnologies
